2015 Inaugural School Year Highlights

Hispanic Heritage Performance

To celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month K-4th grade students in the Spanish-track sang, recited, and danced honoring customs and traditions from countries such as Mexico, Peru, and Colombia.

Teachers, students, and volunteers worked tirelessly to put together an amazing performance for ICSAtlanta families.

ICSAtlanta Celebrates the Chinese New Year

In honor of the tradition, students and teachers alike prepared, preformed, and paraded through the school to mark the 4,714 Chinese New Year. They filled the school with song, dance, and authentic Chinese cuisine and even debuted ICSAtlanta's first dragon!

谢谢 to all the parents, volunteers, teachers, staff, and our wonderful students who enhanced the school experience by sharing the Chinese culture with all students.

Students Light Up the Night at Martinstag Event

Parents, students, and the community enjoyed bratwursts, pretzels, potato salad and hot chocolate on Saturday, November 14th during the Martinstag celebration.

This cultural event, organized by the ICSAtlanta PTO, was an opportunity for all students in all language tracks to appreciate and celebrate German heritage and tradition.

French Artist Leads Workshop for Students

Sponsored by the French Embassy in Atlanta, French artist Herve LeGoff, who has illustrated more than a 100 children books and is currently touring the country to present his work to children in French schools, led one-hour workshops for ICSAtlanta K-2nd grade students in the French-language track.

With paint supplies donated by an ICSAtlanta family, students created colorful and imaginative works of arts featuring a wolf or an elephant and learned how to change their looks depending on their characteristics and girths (mean wolf/nice wolf; skinny wolf/hungry wolf.) It was a great experience for all!
